Description:
This US Springfield Armory rifle, serial #8648xx, was manufactured in 1918. The rifle and Lyman 20x Super Target Spot scope are in excellent condition. It was re-barreled in 1968 with a 26" heavy DL Bowie barrel. Weight of the rifle is approximately 13lb. It has a MH Canjar trigger set at 40oz. The length of pull is 14.25" with an adjustably butt plate. Stock is a classic walnut target setup with a front steel pillar and the adjustable forearm aluminum shooting mitt/sling keeper to accommodate the three shooting positions. It comes with a Redfield micro adjustable rear peep sight with several peeps, one peep has an adjustable aperture. There is no front sight except for the sight block (the sight got borrowed some time ago and never returned).The bore and crown are near perfect, the scope glass is near perfect, just a little dust. The rifle was last used in during the late 1960s in 600yd and 1000yd competitions. It has remained unfired and in safe storage since about 1970.
