Except those listed as Payment Types Accepted: Bank Checks / Money Orders Description: German P.08 Luger Pistol with Police Markings, Holster & 2 Mags. serial # 2x0 b, cal. 9 mm, with a 4” barrel and a bright excellent bore that shows only some very light frosting within the grooves, more prominent near the throat. The metal surfaces retain about 95% of what appears to be original blue. The trigger, magazine release and takedown lever show some traces of original straw while the safety and ejector have toned primarily to a lightly speckled pewter patina. All of the numbers are matching including the grooved firing pin with the exception of the side plate which is numbered “21”, the chamber is 1916-dated and the toggle is DWM marked; the left side of the frame is also stamped “Germany”. The trigger guard has a Weimar-era acceptance stamp at the center of its bow and the frontstrap is stamped “S.D.V.247”. This would appear to be Schutzpolizei, Düsseldorf, District 5, however author Donald Maus has determined the “SDV” markings to likely be from Oberhausen. The gun is equipped with a sear safety as well a magazine safety which is present but has been deactivated during the period of use. The checkered walnut grips rate about very good showing some minor and some moderate flattening of the points, more prominent on the left grip; they are pencil-numbered to the gun on their interior. Two bright-bodied wood-base magazines are included, they are numbered “1/220” and “2/220” on their bases. A correct leather flap holster is included rating good plus to about very good. The leather is mostly smooth with some minor and moderate scuffing along the leading edge of the exterior magazine pouch and the lower half of the holster, the muzzle has actually worn through in one small area. All of the seam stitching is intact and it is appropriately numbered to the gun on the back, identically to the front strap marking, as well as the serial number ”220”. The interior of the flap features a takedown/loading tool with some nice fire blue, it may have been cleaned many years ago, numbered “220”. Overall a really neat and complete, all-matching police unit-marked Luger - holster combination. (C&R) Inv. : # 1-1243 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
