What we have here is a Excellent Condition Smith & Wesson Pre-29 44 Magnum revolver with early black factory case and tool. S71 thousand serial number with estimated production date to late 1956, early 1957. Four screw N frame, six shot, 44 Magnum revolver with 6in barrel. Matching numbers on frame (butt and inside frame and on cylinder). Barrel un-numbered which is standard on four screw revolvers as this practice stopped around this time. Factory Original "Coke Bottle" grips fit perfect, are grain bookend matched and are free of chips and cracks. Original high polish blue finish is excellent showing light turn line on cylinder and a few small light handling marks. Not Mint but a Solid 98-99%+ All markings are crisp and Clear. Comes with the Original Factory black box and has the original blue lining. The Rod and brush has been lost over the years but the screwdriver is still there. Overall an excellent pre-29! This could be a first year 1956 revolver, but most four screws pre model number 29's were shipped in 1957. A must have for any collector!
