Most double gun enthusiasts are well aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of far superior strength and mechanical genius that was under the micro management of John Olin himself. These are guns designed to shoot the heavy Super X loads that are taboo in other vintage American double guns! With only 32,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition, original Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm sure to appreciate as you enjoy its use. It is also well known that guns produced in the Custom Shop were the best of the best Model 21's ever produced. Winchester condensed its operations into one shop beginning in 1960...The Custom Shop. Manned by the most experienced craftsman employed by Winchester an average of 25 years prior, with and average age of 55 years old, these men were serious about their job and the finest of details. In 1981, Winchester Repeating Arms was sold to U.S. Repeating Arms, including the Winchester Custom Shop and all of the work in progress contained therein. This gun, snW34793, is a late gun built by U.S. Repeating Arms in the Custom Shop by the same craftsman that had manned the shop under Winchester. In fact, all of the parts were from the old Winchester inventory and made by Winchester showing Winchester proof marks and stamps throughout. Created with very desirable features including exhibition wood, straight hand stock, vent rib, choked IC/M, this is the perfect sporting clays and upland bird gun. This gorgeous, investment quality American Classic offered at an attractive price that will give you instant equity.
