Description:
This is an Antique U.S. Model 1881 Springfield Trapdoor Shotgun. This is the rare 20 gauge forager shotgun. There were 1,376 manufactured. The serial number on this one is 182. It has the 26 inch smooth bore barrel. The gun shows heavy use, but mechanically it is fine. It has the musket cut down stock with the ram rod channel filled and a very slim fore end. There is still the outline of the cartouche. The bore is dark, but smooth. It is still very usable with black powder loads. There is no provision for a sling. There is a P in an OVAL behind the trigger guard. The trap has the slanted 1881 as it should. The lock is the 1873 with two click tumbler. A really scarce and early trapdoor for the Military collector or the Springfield collector. Buyer pays $30.00 shipping. Three day inspection allowed if returned UNALTERED. Must be 21 years of age to purchase.  Antique – no FFL required. If your state requires an FFL for antiques, you should call 251-510-5007 before buying. Any weapon you plan to shoot should be inspected by a competent gun smith before firing. US only - no International sales. Give us a call or e-mail us at jimconfederateordinance.
