Description:
Auguste Francotte Jubilee model 45 Eagle grade side plated boxlock ejector 20 gauge SxS shotgun.  This is Francotte’s highest grade boxlock shotgun. The 26” barrels have 2 ½” chambers and have a solid concave tapered rib, that goes from 5/16” at the breech to 1/8” at the muzzle; they are choked: .003” (light IC) and .023” (LF).  The wall thicknesses are a very substantial minimum .032” with mirror bright bores.  Double triggers, automatic safety, multiple fasteners, Von Lengerke & Detmold imported, “Francotte Choke Bore” marked barrels and frame, splinter FE & straight grip stop with skeleton buttplate.

The frame is embellished with scroll engraving on the side plates, heavy leaf pattern on the shoulders and fine/tight scroll everywhere else and there is the customary yellow gold eagle (45 model) with the white gold shield on the bottom.  The original case colors have faded to the point that a coin finish is prevailing.

Original rust blued barrels retain 90-95% blue with thinning on both sides.  The trigger guard is engrave with a blue heron and also is in the 90-95% blue.  Same finish condition is displayed in the blue top lever and the skeleton butt plate.  Midway on the rib the mid-bead was removed and filled.

The beautifully grained buttstock has a 14 1/8” LOP, 1 ½” DAC & 2 1/8” DAH with considerable cast for a right hand shooter; approximately 3/8” at the heel and 1/2" at the toe.  Look closely at the buttstock about 1 ½” from the back and you will see a faint line where the stock had been cut, then reattached.  I had a wood finish expert “hide” the seam.

This is a fabulous game gun at 5 lbs. 6 oz. that just so happens to be made by one of the best makers in the world in a very hard to find configuration and very high grade.  Mechanically excellent.
