The following items are documented belonging to the Sheriff of Northeast Texas County of Delta, from 1879-1885, Thomas A. Lambeth . In 1886 he was appointed Deputy U.S. Marshal for Northern District of Texas. 1. Colt Single Action 45; 5 ½” bbl.; nickel finish as lettered mgf 1883; all matching gun with good amt. of original nickel remaining; good bore, action, and grips; SN90681. 2. Remington Whitmore double bbl. 10 ga. solid gun with much wear; SN2034. 3. Original framed oil portrait of Lambeth; 25”x28”; very deteriorated; painted by a relative. 4. Original photo used as model for painting. 5. Framed original commission papers dated May 9, 1886 declaring Lambeth as Deputy U.S. Marshal. 6. Assorted newspaper clippings, papers, etc. 7. Letter of authenticity from last surviving descendent.
