Description:
British carbine made for export to India and dated 1850. Marked with crown over "ORG&CO" on lockplate, crown over "V" behind barrel tang, 1850 over 492 on stock and barrel, several "222" stamped on top of 22 5/8" barrel, oval with crown over "F" inside indicating export. Typical of arming obsolete weapons to countries that England may have to fight.
