Description:
For your consideration is this very good condition London marked SAA.  There is no pitting worthy of mention.  The serial numbers match.  The assembly numbers match.  The numbers on the parts match.  The action has 4 clicks and locks up TIGHT.  The grips fit nicely, and are not numbered.  All markings are clear and sharp.  The ejector housing is the second type.  The bore has some shine, nice rifling, minor pitting.  The finish is mostly a plum patina.  The cylinder pin has been replaced.  The letter documents the gun as it is.  Now to the caliber.  There were 450 short and long cartridges.  45 Colt ammo fits into the chambers.  The cylinder chambers are nice, but there is minor roughness.  If the cylinder had been rebored in semi recent times, the chambers would be smooth.  Certainly the British would not have bored to 45 Colt.  I do believe this is the original cylinder and was chambered for a long cartridge.  I have more pics, including excerpts from books by David Brown, GKM book, and a letter from Ron Wagner.  I do not have feedback on GI, but check my feedback on  , "ford", 570+ feedbacks.
