This is type 1 or first model 31 cal Manhattan revolver. holds load cock and full cock . Action is crisp with correct timing. the octogon barrel is 5 inches long and is a 5 shot. the bore is shiny with sharp lans and grooves with minimal black powder etch as one would expect from the cicvil war era. The finish retains about 60& thining blue with vivid fadding case colors on the load lever . Notice the factory engraving is sharp and clear . the Stage coach hold up scean is about 95% you can see it clearly with the naked eye. the Burl walnut wood grips display very nice figgure and showing lightly rubber varnish is about 90%.. with no chips cracks or splits. over all condition is fine or better notice the sharp edges on the barrel. hard to find in this high condition as many went to the civil war as boot gun or back up. this is a lovely revolver serial # is 3xx.....circa 1858..is most likly a first year revolver........was manufactured in New york.
