Description:
This knife measures 11 15/16" overall with a 6 3/4" straight, double-edged blade. The steel has light-moderate pinprick pitting and freckling throughout on both sides and has been cleaned to bright with a slightly rounded tip. The oval "JMB" trademark (Josef M'nch, Brotterode) is still clear and legible on the reverse forte and the nickel crossguard with forward swept, triple-tiered quillons has a bright original patina with black enamel swastikas in the central disks on both sides. The pommel, likewise has a bright original patina. The blue Morocco grip is moderately worn, especially at top and bottom, but does not exhibit any crackling. The scabbard throat has the N.S.F.K. acceptance proof on the top and the blue Morocco wrap has light wear and flaking along the edges. The chape patina matches the throat and has a slight dent on the ball finial. The original leather hanger has heavy surface wear with none of the original blue remaining but is still intact and the nickel spring clip is still bright. This is a good plus flyer's knife overall and has a rare maker's mark.
