Description:
Serial #169094, .45 ACP, 5” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1917 manufactured pistol that has retained 90-92% of the original blue finish with some very mild silvering along a few of the high edges and projections and an area of mild finish loss near the muzzle on the left side of the slide where the metal is slightly discolored and exhibits a small amount of pinprick pitting. Unusually, there are almost no disassembly marks around the slide latch. The checkered walnut double-diamond grips are in fine-near excellent shape with only some minor wear on either side, a small amount of flattening to the points, and a handful of minor handling marks at the butt on both panels. The pistol comes with a single flat-base, two-tone magazine that matches the condition of the pistol perfectly. Also included is a 2014 dated Colt factory letter that lists this gun as being one of 600 shipped to Springfield Armory on July 24, 1917. This is handsome 1917-made Colt and would make a great addition to any collection of high grade U.S. military firearms. FFL or C&R
