Description:
Serial #7869m, 9mm Para., 4” barrel with a very good bore that has light freckling within the grooves. This is a double dated pistol (1917 and 1920) that has nearly all matching numbers (the safety lever doesn't match and the firing pin is unnumbered) with the metal retaining 85-90% of an overall arsenal re-applied blue finish that has silvered at the muzzle and along some of the exposed edges and surfaces. The frontstrap has also turned to a dark plum-brown along its length and there is a small but unobtrusive import marking on the underside of the barrel. The smaller parts have faint traces of straw color remaining, but are predominantly a dull pewter gray color. The checkered wooden grips are in good shape with light-moderate flattening of the points on either side as well as a small chip missing from the left panel just beneath the safety. The pistol comes with a single wooden base magazine and is a very good plus example of a World War I Luger that was reworked between the wars. FFL or C&R
