Description:
AMT Automag .41 JMP (Jurras Atutmatic Pistol)
This is the,"Custom Model 100" which was a last run of 100 of these Automag pistols.
Serial number is,"LEJ-086"
There were only 35 (thirty-five) of these .41 JMP guns built.
The run of 100 "Custom Model 100" were in .357AMP and .44 AMP.
What There were also a small number of .41JMP barrels built to change caliber of the other (.357 & .44) guns.
The 35 factory frame and barrel .41 guns were specially numbered under the left grip with,"100-3" stamping, which this gun does have.
Reportedly,at the introduction of these guns in 196-77,the buyer had the option of buying all 3 calibers with matching serial numbers.
It's estimated that 26 of these 35 .41 JMP's were sold to customers who already owned matching .357 & .44 AMP's...so,unless one of the 3 caliber sets of .357,.44,and .41 guns were broken up (highly doubtful) This is QUITE POSSIBLY one of ONLY NINE of these singularly sold guns made & sold.
9. THAT is rare,folks.
For the AMT AUTOMAG collector..I have an old and very cool & informative magazine article from "2001 Handguns Annual" telling the Lee Jurras Automag story, and it's very informative.
I can forward it to anyone who is interested.
This gun is in 98% condition, with very light scattered handling marks in the rough surface ares.
It wears factory original 3 wood laminate grips, and they are marked underneath with the AMT Lion Head logo, and a small label listing the woods in the stock.
1 magazine.
Gun is Mag-Na-Ported,a factroy option back then.
Gun only,no box or papers.
I have not tried to fire it,but the action seems fine, trigger functions the hammer, safety works,as does the slide catch and magazine release.
Mechanically,this gun appears solid.
This pistol is truly irreplaceable.
