Description:
Serial #W20693, .303 British, 26" barrel with a very good bore that has mild freckling within the grooves. This rifle has mismatched numbers on the bolt and an Eddystone marked rear sight. The metal has about 60 - 70% of the original blue finish remaining, mostly on the receiver, with fading and silvering along the raised edges and projections. The volley sights are no longer present and the front volley sight mount has been ground flat. Additionally, there is a small unobtrusive importer's stamp on the underside of the barrel near the muzzle. The walnut fat - bellied "G" marked stock has numerous light handling marks and moderate bruises scattered about the surface as well as some armory repairs to the wood at the heel of the butt and on the left side of the floorplate that have a lighter finish than the rest of the wood. Crisp stamps are present on the left side of the butt and there are two small semi - circular cut outs on either side of the forend at the rear of the grasping grooves. This is a good plus example of reworked P-14 by a desirable maker. FFL or C&R
