Description:
Serial #39862, .303 British, 25" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has a pitted bore. This is a 1943 dated rifle that has matching numbers on the bolt and on the post-war style blocky nosecap. The metal has 90-95% of the armory-applied Suncorite finish remaining which has flaked on the exposed edges as well as on the handle and bearing surfaces of the bolt. Additionally, there is some mild pinprick pitting scattered about and the brass buttplate has a dark yellow-ochre patina. The forend and handguards are in fine shape with light surface marring and handling blemishes while the copper wire wraps are intact and still relatively bright. The wood has scattered bruises and blemishes, heaviest at the buttplate, and a small "37" stencil on the buttstock. This is a great looking Ishapore grenade rifle and is in fine condition overall.
