Description:
Serial #L7777, 25" barrel with an integral spring - loaded "bayonet" plunger. This is a 1917 dated, "ENFIELD" stamped rifle that has mixed numbers about 85% of an old armory re-applied blue finish that has silvered and fading along the exposed edges and projections. The barrel now has a captive telescopic plunger for bayonet training which collapses aginst the pressure of a large loose spring which bears against the bolt face when closed. Recent import stamps are present on the underside of the nosecap. The walnut stock and handguards have been armory refinished to fine shape and have scattered small handling marks and blemishes throughout. An original faded green canvas sling is included. This is a neat conversion of a World War I dated Lee-Enfield into a well balanced and effective fencing musket and is in very good plus condition. FFL or C&R
