Description:
Serial #474195, 7.65mm (.32 ACP), 3 3/8” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a very unusual, matching numbered pistol that has the normal commercial FN markings, but with the raised front and rear sights as found on the Dutch Ministry of Finance Contract guns. The metal retains 97-98% of the original blue finish that has some mild silvering at the muzzle and also has some minor fading along a few of the high and exposed edges. The almost black checkered “FN” horn grips are in very good condition with some very minor flattening of the points and noticeable insect damage on both panels. A single “FN” marked magazine is included. The Dutch Contract pistols were the only Model 1900s to utilize raised sights without the milled sighting channel found on virtually all of the other examples made. Their presence on this commercial example is probably the result of using surplus Dutch Contract parts as clean-up. This is an excellent example of a highly unusual Model 1910 Browning and would make a great addition to any collection. {Ref. “FN-Browning Pistols/Side-Arms that shaped World History” by Anthony Vanderlinden; 2009} FFL or C&R
