A finely crafted rifle based on a military Mauser 98 action. The 24” barrel features a milled full length tapered rib and an integral front sight with an inserted rear sight with one standing and one folding leaf.. The fully adjustable trigger seems to be a Sako. There is a Griffin and Howe micrometer adjustable quick release side mount scope base in place. A Hensholt post reticle scope is mounted. The scope is “dirty” inside. The stock is of nicely grained walnut, fine checkering and an ebony forearm tip. There is Neidner steel butt plate and matching grip cap. My guess is that the stock was done at the same time as the metal because there is no provision on the forearm for a sling swivel stud and there is a spot on the bottom of the barrel where there had been a soldered-on swivel. This is an interesting and very fine rifle. Weighs 9 lbs. 3 oz. SOLD |
