Description:
This is a Lyle Style Lifesaving Gun (Cannon) by Coston Signal Co., New York. Coston began making signal guns in the 1890s. These guns are made of steel. They were made to shoot a line from ship to ship or ship to shore. They are credited with saving over 4,500 lives. As decorators, these lifesaving guns are exceptionally well given to placement in any sort of Nautical atmosphere, either indoors or out. The firing plug can be removed and replaced with a bronze bolt, which is then bored to accept a fuse for firing, if someone wants a really nice signal gun. The bore of the gun is 2 1/2 inches. The length of the barrel is 32 inches and it is 9 1/2 inches wide at the trunnions. These guns were used aboard ships from the 1890s to the 1950s. The approximate weight is 150 pounds. US only - no International sales. Shipping would have to be by truck C.O.D. or it can be picked up at my home. A signed disclaimer of liability must be signed by the buyer. Shipping cost to be determined at time of sale. Must be 21 years of age to purchase. Give us a call 251-510-5007 or e-mail us at jimconfederateordinance.
