DWM (Luger) P.08, 9mm [Dated 1915], Caliber 9 mm, Serial Number 41XX, Inv 5277
Gorgeous for it's 100 year old birthday. Realistically about 96-97% of the beautiful factory blued finish. There is a little bit of edge silvering, some flaking in the right rail edge, the front of the side panel and left frame panel. The barrel does show some very light sparsely scattered pin pricks. No rust or pits anywhere to speak of. The grip straps show no graying. The frame is stamped with four WWI Weimar Republic proofs. There is also the expected stock attachment wear. The strawed parts are also about 85% with most of the loss on the safety lever. All numbers match including the firing pin. The walnut grips are without fault, no chips, cracks or points flattened. The feed ramp and bolt face like the rest of the gun show very little wear. The bore is very fine with sharp crisp rifling and just a hint of graying. The gun comes with one correct wooden based magazine which is not numbered to the gun. A century old but not abused, should be just fine in a collection or on the range. $1595.
