Smooth even grayish brown exterior with a decent cylinder scene remaining (about 60-65% lightly rolled scene). Decent action and the bore is G/VG with decent rifling; about a “5-6” on a scale of 10 and likely will clean a bit better. Very well fitting replaced one piece wood grips with absolutely no wear or damage. This 160 year old early Colt Navy was argumentively the best thing going during the California Gold Rush, and anyone fortunate enough to purchase such a gun would certainly have an advantage in a gun fight over a disputed gold claim. All-in-all, a very decent looking and very early old Navy that likely saw the entire Gold Rush era as well as possibly being in the American Civil War as a personal weapon of some soldier or officer.
