Description: Serial #1524b, 9mm Para., 4? barrel with fine, bright bore that has some very mild freckling within the grooves. This is a 1916 dated pistol that has all-matching numbers (with the exception of the grips which are numbered ?34? on the interior) and retains 95-97% of the original blue finish that has some mild silvering and light freckling at the muzzle, and along the high edges and projections. Strong original straw color remains on the ejector while traces are still visible on the trigger, take-down lever, and safety with the balance turned bright gray. There is a small and unobtrusive import stamp on the underside of the barrel. The checkered wooden grips are have only very light wear and handling marks with only some mild flattening of the points. The pistol comes with two wood base magazines (one of which is original and numbered to the gun) and is housed in a 1916 dated holster with large unit stamp on the back: ?S.Wpr.50.4.7.? The leather is lightly crazed and worn, but is still supple and intact nevertheless. This is a fine-excellent example of a mid-production World War I Luger and would make a fantastic addition to a collection.
