Description:
S# 110242, 33 WCF, 24 inch barrel, bright excellent bore. This 1896 manufactured rifle comes with a factory letter indicating pistol grip checkered stock, 28 inch octagon 40-82 barrel and plain trigger. Also marked on the tang is "18XX" showing the rifle had XX wood originally. Rifle now has a mail order 33 WCF barrel and replaced wood. barrel has 90% blue, receiver shows traces of case colors. Wood is sound, some areas does not fit very well to metal. Forend cap has an old hole for a sling stud. Action works well, hammer is first type with widow's peak checkering pattern. A great rifle for hunting or restoration. Antique.
