Description:
Serial number 172370 was mfg in 1898. It is a deluxe Marlin model 1897 lever action rifle that shoots all the standard .22 rimfire calibers. It sports a 24" full octagon barrel with full magazine, deluxe pistol grip checkered walnut stock and Marlin logo hard rubber butt plate. The rifle remains in spectacular all original condition. The frame retains virtually all of the brilliant factory case colors with balance showing some minor freckling. The barrel retains virtually all of the original factory blue finish as well with sharp as new edges and factory stamps. The loading tube's blue finish has turned and softened. The checkered walnut duluxe stocks are near mint with no cracks and very sharp checkering. Action is perfect. Bore is strong but a little frosted. Even the bolt retains most of its high fire blue finish. Definately one of the finer examples of this rifle you will find and is antique so can be shipped anywhere. SALES HOLD
