Description:
Serial number 2670 was mfg in 1877, the second year of production and is chambered for the 45-75 cartridge and sports the early thumb print dust cover. It is a standard rifle with a 28" full round barrel and full magazine with rifle butt plate , blued finish and walnut stock. The barrel retains at least 90% original blue with brown patina showing through. The frame retains at least 75-80% of the original brilliant factory high polish blue finish intact with the balance a pleasing brown patina and a light LM on left side of frame. Original walnut stocks are excellent with just a bit of chipping on right side of tang and a few chips on left fore arm. Action is perfect. Bore is near mint. Antique so can be shipped anywhere. Extremely difficult to find such an early 1876 with so much original factory condition It still shows strong colors on hammer and has the original ladder rear sights with blade front.
