Description:
A.H. Fox A Grade 12 Gauge SxS Shotgun
1906 Gun WITH HANG TAG AND ANSLEY’S SIGNATURE

General Specs: AH Fox, Year 1906, 12 Gauge, 7lbs 1oz, Side by Side
Serial Number: 1025

Fox collectors: here is a rare opportunity to own a nice Fox with the original hang tags in excellent condition.  The hang tag bears the original, fountain pen signature of Ansley H. Fox himself.  For the collector that wants to have other memorabilia and “paper” in addition to the guns themselves, this is a valuable addition to your collection.  The gun has been fully restored to as new with Doug Turnbull Restorations case color and blue.  The parts are all original to the gun and the hang tag is in very good condition.

Most Fox guys are aware that Ansley H. Fox’s guns from the earliest manufacture were extremely well built.  His advertising slogan, “The Finest Gun in the World” was his primary focus, and he made sure that all the internal parts were finely polished, that the fit and finish was to perfection, and that the guns shot and patterned extremely well.  The entire internals were cleaned in our Ultra Sonic cleaner, inspected, and lubricated during the restoration process, so the inside of the gun is like new and ready for decades of service.  This gun is extremely light for a 12ga. with 30” barrels, weighing in at 7lbs. 1oz. and balancing just forward of the hinge pin.  The hang tag with his signature, in excellent readable fountain pen writing, is “icing on the cake” and a great find.
