Description:
SOLD....REDUCED PRICE,,,Antique Sharps derringer .30 caliber. Model 2. Standard 3" barrels. This is a very tight little Sharps 4 shot Derringer in .30 RF. Not a bad little Derringer that has had some poor storage over time. Matching S/N 2648. This one has the silver finished brass frame with blue barrel clusters.. The barrel cluster still shows some very nice bright blue as you can see in the photos. Also shows quite a bit of surface crud from poor storage. Not really pitted as much as on the surface and could be very carefully cleaned but would probably lose the barrel blueing in the process so best to just leave it as it is. This is up to you to decide. The frame still shows maybe 10% silver plating. The mechanics are excellent with the rotating firing pin working perfectly. The barrel to frame fit is tight as a new gun with no wobbles or movement what so ever. The grips are excellent as you can see with NO cracks or chips and a perfect tight factory fit. No looseness in the grips either. The grips still show 85% original varnish on the left side and about 45% on the right side. The bores are excellent and bright with strong rifling from one end to the other. Just a few very small spots of roughness but still way above average for these little derringers. Most bores in these guns look like a stove pipe. Frame screws show some burring and maybe old replacements but not too bad. One casting flaw in the brass on the right side by the screw end. Frame markings are very good to excellent. Original brass pin front sight.
