Springfield 1898 .30-40 Krag caliber rifle. U.S. Military rifle manufactured in 1902. Bore has strong rifling and is dark in the grooves. Metal has a brown and gray patina. Wood is good with dents and dings, no cracks. Cartouche is very good and is 1902 dated. There is a marking “DB23” (potentially a rack number) at the heel of the stock. Good – very good condition overall.
