Description:
Serial #855516, 7.63mm Mauser, 5 1/4” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a touch of light freckling within the grooves at the muzzle. This is a handsome pistol that retains 95-97% of the original blue finish that has silvered and faded at the muzzle as well as on some of the other projecting edges and surfaces. There is some light pinprick pitting on the sides of the receiver rails on either side of the ejection port as well, but these are quite minor. The bolt and hammer have some mild freckling on the otherwise pewter gray patina and there are some faint traces of the original bright fire blue on the extractor. The 12 groove wooden grips are not numbered on the interior and are in fine shape with a few minor handling marks and surface blemishes on both panels but no cracks or chips. A small “6” stamp is present at the butt on the left side. The mechanism has tight lock-up, the action functions flawlessly, and this is a fine plus example of a 1930 Broomhandle overall. {Ref.
