Gun is New York engraved, most likely by Hartley and Graham of New York City. Gun has fine old pearl grips. The barrel is inscribed “F.C. Schaub”. Schaub lived in Dallas, TX, and by family lore he was a Dallas deputy sheriff. In Dallas he was the general manager for Sears. He later moved to Philadelphia where he was again the Sears manager. Gun comes with a factory letter and newspaper obituary on Mr. Schaub. Bore is very good and action works perfectly. This revolver was in the collection of Dr. Richard Marohn of Chicago, who was a renowned collector of Colt Lightnings. The revolver was owned by well-known antique bun dealers Ray Petry and Arnold Chernoff. This revolver is most certainly New York engraved, circa 1880’s and has been refinished; probably in the 1920’s. Case is modern and looks very good with the revolver. SOLD |
