Description:
On the rib is "R Grove London Fine Damascus". The Damascus bbls are 28". The 10 ga is chambered for the older 2-7/8" shotgun shells. Bbl has been cleaned and is pretty much silver/grey color. Metal is pretty smooth and the damascus pattern shows thru. This is the side lock variety like most of these in this era. Very nice engraving on the side locks with not much wear. Still looks very good. The bores on this gun don't look to bad either. There is a few light spots of pitting towards the chamber area. Scattered roughness. They are at least good and close to being very good. Wood is well used but in quite good cond. The delicate wood around the lock area is all present. Not even an indication of a repair which is quite uncommon especially on a 10 ga. Orig widows peak hard rubber butt plate is still on the stock. Fancy stock wood. A very handsome old shotgun!
