This type leather bandolier was used in WW I by British & Canadian cavalry units. This one is dated 1924, six years after that war.The other markings in circle are _MOTAGWE LIMITED MONTREAL CANADA 1924 and in the center G.G. B. G. over B ; also broad arrow in a circle.The overall length is 46 inches. There are 9 pockets for 2- 10 round .303 ammo clips.This is one impressive bandolier belt! Its in good condition for its age and needs some conditioning. Please do not use neatsfoot oil.Something like Blackfoot Leather 'N Rich, Kelly,s Dubbin ,or Pecard's ( though it darkens leather a bit ).The 5 pockets on one side are nice and the other 4 pockets on other side have some darkness and more wear ( probably from rubbing against horse ,or whatever. This will be one nice bandolier to display and rememer its an original and not a repro!
