Antique,between World Wars I-II period produced 4 X magnification Gerard Landlecht2 D.R.P. sniper rifle scope with claw mounts.Made from steel and was painted. Condition very good.Clear,sharp view.Objective lens:clear,no scratches. Ocular lens has hair thin scratch between 1-2 o`clock and rusty between lenses and tube. Mechanically(elevation adjustment, focusing)work good. Lateral adjustment work by moving screw on right site of rear claw mount. Excellent scope for old collectible sporting, drilling and side by side rifles and shotguns. During WWI, many German sporting rifle scopes were converted for use with the German military`s Scharfscutzen-Gewehr 98 Sniping Rifles. Gerard scopes, like many others were employed in this bloody business. Reticle German #1 Magnification 4 X Length 264.00 mm Main tube diameter 22.50 mm Eye piece part of tube diameter 30.60 mm Objective part of tube 29.60 mm Weight 364 g with mounts Used, but in very good condition for 100 years old scope.
