Webley, Navy marked .455 semi auto Military pistol . This was issued to the Royal Navy. The (N) marking on the left side of the slide Just beyond the words webley mark1 verifies that. It's in .455 auto calibre. Very similiar to the 45acp but not interchangble. The mechanics of this pistol are excellent and it functions perfectly as I have fire it with factory .455 military ammo dated 1919. The bore is not minty but a 9 out of ten.It's very accurate at 20 yards and groups the shots in tight . The finish is of the rebuild type , very close to the original , the guns were refurbished between the wars by the military, they replaced the broken hard rubber grips with these (original military replacement) grips of walnut. They are strong and thicker than the very thin and brittle originals. There is a lot nice finish, bluish in color but not polished. The barrel has nice finish also. The number 6952 is stamped on the bottom of the barrel, the grip safty, the slide, the frame in front of the trigger guard, all matches. the magazine is original with proof marks on the follower and the rear face of the mag. Very heavy duty mag. The markings on the slide are sharp and crisp. There are very many more on all the parts. Its a strong example and a solid and good looking piece of British Naval history.
