Arisaka Type 97, with parts from Springfield, and Mauser K-98, Caliber 6.5mm, Serial Number 12119XX.
This is what some clever home gunsmith thought was the way to create a custom hunting rifle. The frame and barrel are from an Arisaka Type 99, the stock is from a 1903 Springfield, the trigger and magazine assembly appear to be from a Mauser. The parts appear to be in great shape. The Mum has been ground, the receiver has been milled and tapped for a right side micrometer sight and the bore is only fair but very shoot able, as the rifling is quite distinct. However the Springfield parts alone, namely the barrel bands, stock, forearm, handguard, trapdoor buttplate, and swivels alone have to be worth more than I'm asking. Not to mention the Mauser parts. This could be quite an interesting project for the home gunsmith or someone looking for parts. I'll let this beauty go for..... $125.
