Description:
This socket bayonet is stamped "US" at base of blade and it remains in very good condition with a developing dark patina on bright metal. Back of socket shows some impact marks with a crack in the bridge. Socket is 3 inches long with 59/64 O.D. and 25/32 inside diameter. This comes in a partial scabbard missing hanger with stiff leather and dented tip showing a nice aged patina. A very good civial war bayonet.
