Description:
This P1888 MK 1 is the second type with two brass rivets holding grips and an oil hole in grip. This shows a crown over VR above 10'96 date above Wilkinson London makers name on ricasso. Opposite side shows WD under broad arrow, inspector's mark and bend test. Blade shows staining with some areas of light pitting. Guard and pommel show pitting with a dark patina. Grips show wear and inspector's marks . This comes in a correct steel and leather scabbard with number (745) on frog stud matching number on guard. Scabbard shows pitting and dark patina on metal parts, tip is glued on, and seam remains tight with leather still soft. A good example.
