Description:
Serial #2177, .45 ACP, 5” barrel with a good-very good bore that has mild freckling within the grooves. This is a 1907-made pistol that has traces of the original blue remaining on protected areas and the balance of the metal turned to a mottled plum-brown color mixing with a pewter gray patina, especially along the high edges and projections. All of the markings are still quite crisp and there are a few barely noticeable spots of pinprick pitting at the muzzle area and a few further spots on the frame as well. The checkered walnut “tombstone”-shaped grips are in good shape with light wear and handling marks with some moderate flattening of the points and a glued vertical crack running the length of the right panel. The pistol comes with a single original magazine that retains 90% of an overall reblued finish. The Model 1905 is a seldom seen Colt automatic, and this example is in very good plus condition overall. It is mechanically tight and would make a splendid representative example for a collection.
