* * * SOLD ON HOLD PENDING FUNDS / Japanese Type 14 (LTG) Nambu Transitional Semi Auto Pistol, serial #67175, cal. 8mm Nambu, has a 4 1/2” barrel with a bright excellent bore, pistol is dated 14.9 (Sept. 39) making this one of the first few hundred made during that month when the arsenal changed from a small trigger guard to a large trigger guard; the 14.9 date code is the only one with Chuyo Kogyo pistols that may be found with either large or small trigger guards. The metal retains 93% original blue with only traces of straw color on the trigger and safety. All visible numbers are matching with exception to the magazine that is numbered 252/101 and the trigger housing numbered ?20, the grooved mahogany grips are very good but have a few dings near the mag release but nothing drastic or alarming, grips are not numbered, overall a nice example of an early war Nambu pistol in very good condition.
