Excellent bore - just about perfect showing no pitting or corrosion - crisp action with perfect timing and lock-up.. Metal is excellent with no pits or corrosion - barrel and cylinder retain about 90% blue with some thinning and fading in areas - cylinder is the early half-fluted and rebated style. - frame has 50% to 60% case color with fading in some areas - brass guard and backstrap are a nice mellow tone and have not been polished. Grips are undamaged and retain 95% + finish and are a very attractive burl walnut, possibly special order. The front sight is a "Sheard" style and adjustable in a dovetail and could also be special order from the factory.. These factory conversions were made only 2 years 1874-1875 and only about 6500 were produced - a scarce conversion and very popular in the early West. This early conversion is in excellent or better condition and except for possibly the front sight, is all original - an outstanding collectible ! SOLD Antique: Yes Manufacturer: The j |
