Description:
#2479 British Snyder Patented “Zulu Forager”, 12ga with extremely crappy dark bore that at the least light can be seen from both ends; not recommended for accurate Skeet or Trap shooting …but MAYBE with enough elbow grease, it MAY clean to between “horrible” and “terrible”. Side-swing trapdoor action does work (no small miracle in itself condering who used these guns), and not made with any provision for an extractor. Overall deep brown patina mixed with liberal dust, crud, dead spiders, and 140 years of ill-care and mistreatment. Rarely seen “after market accessory” forearm band (cheap hardware store electrical tape) which, unfortunately, will need to be removed to ship to the poor soul who buys this highly non-collectible firearm. And for the few who are unfamiliar with what a Zulu Forager is (was), these were left over British pre-1860 muskets that were later converted to cartridge rifles for the Boar Wars (etc) and after that, were cut down, bored to smoothbores, and traded to the African Zulus (and others) in the 1880s and later as cheap and obsolete game guns, much the same as what was done with our US muskets that were traded to Indians. Actually, I have no idea WHY I’m even bothering to waste the time photographing and describing this piece…it’s probably over-priced even at the $195 price! (…which is why there isn’t even a condition rating!). Oh, and by-the-way, the all-brass shotgun shell does NOT come with the gun at this price. $195
