Description:
Smith & Wesson Performance Center. It is a Model 629-6 and is chambered for the .44 Magnum. I believe this is a very limited production revolver. Built on the stainless steel round-butt N-frame, it has a 6 shot unfluted cylinder and a 7-1/2" heavy barrel of unique design. Not only is the top of the barrel milled into an integral rail, but the lug beneath the bore is hollow and home to a special adjustable weight system. Forward lock-up is by ball detent. It has an adjustable white-outline rear sight and a bright orange front sight that is dovetailed to the rib. The revolver is mostly a satin bead-blasted black finish, but with polished flats on each side of the barrel. This revolver is in excellent overall condition. There is some edge wear and the revolver has been fired, but I'd grade the gun at 97-98% overall. There is no rust or pitting...no significant dings or scratches. The laminated wood finger groove grips do not show any handling wear. The mechanics appear to be in good working order and the bore is excellent.
