Description:
Here is a survivor. Serial #240979, .45 ACP, 5” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1918 manufactured pistol that has retained almost all of its original blue finish with only some negligible silvering along a few of the high edges and projections. The only real finish loss occurs on the left side of the frame which has a few small disassembly marks around the slide latch. The checkered walnut double-diamond grips are in fine-excellent shape with only some minor wear on either side and a small amount of flattening to the points. The pistol comes with a single, correct lanyard loop, two-tone magazine that matches the condition of the pistol. Also included is a 2014 dated Colt factory letter that lists this gun as being one of 3,800 shipped to Springfield Armory on February 26, 1918. This is an absolutely fantastic 1918-made Model 1911 and would make a great addition to any collection of high grade U.S. military firearms. FFL or C&R
