ENGRAVED COLT BREVETE MODEL 1851 PERCUSSION NAVY REVOLVER. .36 caliber, 6 shot with 7½” octagon barrel with one line “ADDRESS COL. SAML. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA” and London proofs on the left lug. Cylinder with London proofs between the chambers. 103,xxx serial range and all matching. Frame stamped “COLT’S/PATENT”. Special features include original Brevete floral engraving and rare iron back strap and trigger guard. Two piece bone grips with lovely mellow aged finish. Grey brown original patina on the metal and extra nice markings. Working order and good bore and chambers. Found in Turkey years 30 years ago with an old piece of chamois with typed inscription mentioning it as a gift.
