COLT BREVETE MODEL 1849 POCKET PERCUSSION REVOLVER, CIRCA 1880-90. 4" octagonal barrel with "American Colt Extra" stamped on top of barrel with Belgian proofs. Additional Belgian and Liege proof on sides of barrel assembly. Cylinder having "Brooklyn Bridge" scene and belgian proofs. All original nipples still present and I excellent condition. Frame with 'Patent Sysytem" stamped on left side. Original bone grips a nice fit. Silver plated triggerguard with just traces remaining and '.35 CAL" stamped on left side. Uncleaned overall with excellent patina. A few areas of oxidation but reluctant to clean further as loss of very old character might result. Mainspring is strong but sear does not catch. Cylinder does not rotate so would make a good project for anyone who likes to tinker without fear of screwing up an exspensive piece.
