We are offering for sale an antique ADAMS & CO. double barrel percussion shotgun chambered in 12 guage. Adams & Co was an English gun maker from 1870 to 1899 and located in London from 1870 to 1880 at 9 Finsbury Place South E.C. This shotgun comes in its original box with original “Adams & Co.” label.
30” double Damascus barrels are very good with bright, clean bores. Top rib is marked “Adams & Co. 9 Finsbury Place South London”. Some nice engravings on breach of barrel. The receiver and sideplates are very nice with a beautiful grey patina. All metal parts are heavily engraved. Right hammer has been professionally repaired. This gun is in functioning condition. Beautifully engraved and unique lever is located under the trigger guard. Furniture is very good with some signs of handling wear. No major cracks or breaks.
Original case is in fair condition and shows moderate to heavy wear. The fact that it exists is truly amazing. Case is full of antique accessories including B.G.I. Co. wooden cleaning rod, (2) rod attachments, (2) Bayliss & Son. Wrenches, (2) Bridgeport powder measures and oil can and a homemade tool.
