CIVIL WAR ERA COLT MODEL 1862 NEW POLICE REVOLVER. 5 shot .36 caliber with 4 ½” barrel having the “COL. SAML. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA” address. All original except the wedge screw which is a period replacement. All matching serial numbers in the 19,xxx range. 1863 production date. Very good plus excellent original walnut grips and the silver plated brass straps. Both of these retain much of the finish. Frame with modest grey-blue case hardening. Barrel and cylinder with dark patina mixed with spots of light salt and pepper. Perfect working order and excellent bore and chambers. Even has the original cylinder safety pins. Nice example at a reasonable price.
