Payment Types Accepted: cash, check, Description: Offered for sale is a percussion double barreled shotgun, serial number 367, of approximately 16 bore (.655'), built by Charles Moore of 2 Regent Circus, London, probably during 1822, his second year there (judging from the low serial number). The barrels measure 29 1/4 inches, the length of pull is 14 5/8 inches and the weight is 7 lbs. 1 oz. The ram rod is a later replacement. The rib is marked "Charles Moore CHICHESTER patent SELF PRIMING WATER PROOF", indicating that it was originally a flint lock. This is borne out by the changes visible on the locks. The bores are at least fine and the action functions perfectly. The condition is also at least fine - a very nice, shootable shotgun ready for your next upland hunt. SOLD Antique: Yes |
