Here is a classic Colt small frame .22 rifle. It is not in a high condition of cosmetic finish but does have some unusual features or good things. #1 it has a good decent clean bore which is unusual for these century + antique 22 lightnings. Most are shot out black holes. #2 It has an unusually uncommon round barrel. Only one in about fifty or more rifles do you see these round barrels. #3 It has the special order deluxe checkered forearm which I have only rarely seen on non - Deluxe models. #4 It has British proof marks and almost all of the Lightnings shipped to Great Britain were medium or large frames. There is no rust or pits or freckling or even brown on the gun. However= hardly any bright blue finish is left - and what is there is very thin and flaked or mottled. Mechanically it is sound with crisp sound action and the wood is not cracked or damaged or redone. It is what it is - a sound unusual shooter that is all there and undamaged.
